THIS IS WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY!

I've been hoarding my creations again so be prepared this is another long blog post!
Recently I have playing with lots of Pink Reptile Designs products. I love the quirkiness of Mirjam's designs. I was first introduced to this fabbo designer's work when I was CT'ing for Studio 68 and Scrapbook News and Reviews. Sandra (Studio 68) and Mirjam collaborated on quite a few kits so until I started sorting out my scrappy stash I had no idea how many kits I had of PRD's and well let me tell ya there is a few lol.

Every Month PRD host a Blog challenge and a couple months ago I was asked to create a sketch for the March challenge which was a real honour. This months challenge is to create a page all about "Where would you love to be?" using atleast 75% PRD products. I took it quite literally and scrapped my dream vacay in NYC. What I would give to be transported there! If you're keen to participate the May PRD Blog challenge it ends 15th June so there is still plenty of time to get a page subbed in time, here is the LINK for all the details.

Here is my entry and am proud to say it got a GSO which is very exciting stuffs
and yep you guessed it, it made me happy! he he

Oh and I should mention incase you didnt see it over at the Page Drafts Blog, I have been updating the earlier sketch collections with the new PD Logo and jooshing them a bit to come inline with the new look sketch style. Many of the old releases also only consisted of 3 sketches but to keep all the releases uniformed I have added extra sketches to make the total 5 per release.

The page above was created using a template #2.5 which is a new addition to the 2nd release so if you want to keep up to date with these newly created re-releases simply nominate to 'Get Notifications' by clicking on the Liked Tab and select Get Notifications from the drop down menu on the Page Drafts Facebook Page I'll share there as they are completed. Alternatively you can sign up for an email subscription to the Page Drafts Blog you can find that located at the bottom on the right hand sidebar.

Here is the preview for the re-released set #2 click on the image below to have a look at the original post :)

I have recently been doing a few Project Life pages too. Even though I have admired all the fantastic project lifers out there I really didn't think it was something I'd take to...BUT I LOVE IT! It is such a simple way to document a day, week or month. I love being able to add the QR code to it so that you can see related videos. If you have a Scanner App ( I use ScanLife) on your phone all you have to do is hover it over the code below and it will open up a video of Dan and Tige doing 'Whirly Birds'.

At this stage I am not very organised with my weekly photo's so I am just scrapping day outings with my boys but I can see a whole new approach to scrapping for me and once I have my photo's sorted into weekly folders I'll be doing more of these and will be happy to have them scrapped finally!

BABY ITS COLD OUTSIDE...

Yeah I know, rid-on-culous blog title given yesterday was the first official day of summer here in Australia and to make it stick even less were lucky here in Queensland because its summer all year round!

...but I just couldn't resist playing in the third special C.S.I Casefile which is a collaboration with Scrap365 Magazine.  Its now live and runs for the whole of December which gives you plenty of time to channel the inner girlie girl or to explore the soft pastel inspired palette.

I have never really played with a palette like this before so thought why not give it a go and when I started photographing my cutest little 1950's disney deer I had bought at my local op shop I knew I was up for the challenge and had the idea to do a snow laden page.

I dream of one day celebrating a white christmas and this page kinda made me want to wrap up in my winter woolies and well I also had a warm feeling hanging with the Scrap 365 girls again (my old DT stomping ground).

So here is my page...

Evidence:
{Ribbons} in the banners & scattered {pearls}.
I included a gold{feather} some {glitter} stars, a few little {birds},
some {needlework}{snowflakes} and finally {texture paste} and a{silver accented} frame.

Testimony:
I chose the topic {Winter} and journaled about the landscape
including the key words {sparkle, soft & handmade}

'Its cold outside. Winter trees stand bare. Looks for coats to wear. Hovers together seeking
a refuge from the icy winters air. The snow it sparkles as it blankets the ground. Snowflake it
falls & kisses my cheek. So softly it falls at my feet, natures handmade glistening veil.'

TRYING SOMETHING NEW!

Today brings a new CSI Casefile #71 which includes a Page Draft Sketch
so of course I had to play along hehe.

I decide to take a really different approach to scrapping and kept it very stylised and clean. Almost reminiscent to some collages I did at uni that I mentioned in this post here.

Anyways here is my take on the casefile.

'No:1'
{All other elements are by me.}

...and of course the sketch CSI #71.

I also made a couple more pages with the same look and style. Think I might see how these look as traditional pages so stay tuned :)

 'No:13'

Have a fabulously creative scrappy day!

HE'S MY SONSHINE...

Its nearly Sunday and again I am late with the new palette release from TCR...here's my design inspired by palette #72 and this week I have included a sketch template for those of you who like to collect them. Hope you have a fun with it and would love to see your designs using it!

WHY SO SERIOUS?

Yep yet another week has passed and now we are up to Palette #63...I am having so much fun lately creating digital elements and papers so you'll be seeing a lot more of my digital layouts and this week is no exception.
I love the palettes from The Color Room, number 63 is one of my faves...so much so I think I will design a kit using the palette above as inspo...
anyways here is the digital and traditional pages and a sketch template incase your in need of some mojo.

ON THE MOVE!

I have been crazy busy packing up the house and cleaning it, but thought I'd quickly pop on here and add a little post before I go off line for a few days until we can be re-connected in the new abode. I have been wanting to get my digi kits up and running for weeks but with Tige and the house move everything has gone on the back burner. I have been crazily creating and learning new paths on PS and hopefully with in the month I can share some more kits with you.

Here is a digi I created of my friend Heather using some of the elements and papers I have designed for the 'On the Move' kit...I only wish I had some sneak peeks/Quick Grabs done for the other 4 kits I have created, big bummer but I promise I will get sorted soon!

Anyways here is the LO for you to get an idea...the kit includes a Polaroid Frame, Baroque Frame, Textured papers and a selection of elements most of which I haven't used in this page but you get the idea...
I haven't done much scrapping this week and am having withdrawals but here is another past Color Room palette knocked off the list #28 and both the traditional & digital versions to compare. I have also decided to include a sketch template for those of you needing a boost in the mojo department.
So tomorrow is the big day, the day we close the doors to our old life and begin a new one. Although I am all excited about this move I'm already feeling a sadness come over me...we have lived here for almost 6 years, its were we shared good times with our two gorgeous doggies Kales and Osky before they passed.
Its also where we have created some wonderful memories, but its time to move on, time for a bigger house and time to start afresh.

Well better get motivated and pack the scrap room up and start getting organised for tomorrows big move. Catch you all in a few days! xox

A SKETCH & DIGI!

A NEW MONTH WITH NEW CHALLENGES

Its that time again, Monthly challenges are all on the go again, and hopefully this month does not disappoint!
Over at Scrapboutique I'm hosting this months Monthly Themed challenge
 'CELEBRATING THE LITTLE PEOPLE'
May is the Month of Mothers Day, so lets scrap a page dedicated to the little people in our lives, be it our children, nieces, nephews or God Children. Lets capture those not so desirable moments like looking messy, those spaghetti or chocolate ice-cream grins, the glares, the poking out of tongues, that sort of thing.
 Criteria:
1- Use a photo that captures the mood of that moment. ie: Grumpy, naughty, being cheeky or pulling a funny face!

2- Create your own Grungy Background PP, by using paint and misting spray.

Here's my example LO of my Godson Master Kellan. Now I know this piccie has been done before but I absolutely love it, and will probs use it over and over again, so please humour me!Tee hee
I've also set my second challenge as DT over at Uproar 2 Scrapmore. I thought it would be fun to do a Sketch & Colour Palette Challenge, dedicated to us as bubba's.Here's the May Sketch Challenge Template and Colour Palette.

 Criteria:
1- Use a photograph of you as a bubba or toddler.
2- Use machine or Hand stitching somewhere on the page.
3- Follow the sketch template, you are welcome to flip it any which way so long as you stick to the basic design.
4- Use the attached colour palette.

If your interested in some fun challenges then pop on over to Scrapboutique and Uproar2Scrapmore sites and join in!
