FRESH START

Trying to find a new schedule with Tige's schooling and design time has been a little tricky. Trickier than I thought. I seriously think I was delusional when I thought I'd have more time up my sleeve with Tige attending school 5 days a week, but jeepers nope thats furtherest from the truth...what's with that?!

School pick up and drop off is what nightmares are made of, hassling for a parking spot even a block away can at times be difficult let alone negotiating the bloody morning peak hour. Arriving at school and watching Tige with his new school buddies before the bell rings is the ultimate reward....Oh wow what a fun time we've been having.I am slowly meeting other mum's (some my age group yay!) and I'm now on the P&C as a volunteer plus I put my hand up for the Risk Management Stategy Committee which I am sure will be really interesting. So begins school life!

After the morning rush I hit the computer and well its been all systems go designing lots of new digital collections and nifty packs. March is a big month so I thought I'd share some of my current pages using all my latest products. Hope you like them :)
'Highest High'
'Key To My Heart'
'Fun in The Sun'
'Cranky Pants'
'You Make Me Smile'
'He Is...'
'Art & Craft Day'

ONE PAGE FOR EVERY MONTH

Happy New Year everyone!
Hope you all had a great 2015 and an even better start to 2016.

It was a great year. One with many highs and some real lows but overall it was a year that has prepared me for the one ahead. I feel optimistic and positive which is a first in a real long time for me, funny how a few sessions with the brain doctor can get you to turn your thinking around hehe. I am now filled with excitment not dread and can't wait to see what my future holds. 2016 will be a year of personal growth and re-learning to respect and love myself again.

To start off 2016 I thought I'd look at 2015 in review and pick a few choice pages from each month. These are the ones that resonated with me and hope you like them too.
Love to you all Em xo

LITTLE BOY BLUE KIT FREEBIE!

Hi everyone,

Some of you may know that I have been wanting to create digital kits for a long time, and a couple of years ago I shared a few with friends to see what they thought. The feedback was great but my lack of confidence was what held me back from moving forward.

Anyways since those days I have learnt a lot more about digi designing and of course still have a long way to go, however....I have had a change of heart and am feeling a little more confident in sharing some mini kits that I have been working on. I have a few up my sleeve so watch this space tee hee!

Here is the first of some freebies I will be sharing with you...the kit is called,

'LITTLE BOY BLUE'
The kit includes:
12 X Patterned Papers
2 X Transparency Papers
15 X Mixed Elements
2 X Paint Spray Masks
1 X Boy Defined Wordart
LBB Alpha Sheet .png format

Click on the links below to download

Here is a page I did using the kit which also worked perfectly with the latest Casefile #29 at C.S.I
and one for the Mad About Scrappin' July Sketch Challenge.
and here is the sketch for July.
I hope you likey the kit! Send your friends by so they can download the kit too ;) and please if you do use this kit in any of your digi or hybrid projects I would absolutely love to see them so let me know here by linking your blog post or gallery upload or alternatively by emailing me at justagirlwithideas@hotmail.com  I will be so buzzed to see your fabbo artworks using them and perhaps feature some here at a later date!

Happy Scrapping!

LETS CELEBRATE!

Can you believe palette 100 is up! Wow congratulations 'The Color Room', massive round of applause. Also to the team along with all you wonderful forum members you guys rock for supporting such a great place and sharing all your inspiring creations, every week I am stunned by the talent out there and am excited to be continuing on the journey with TCR DT. Anyways there is lots to share in this post so I best get on with it.

To celebrate this amazingly auspicious moment I have created a mini digital kit called 'Your So Purdy' and donated it to TCR for you to purchase.
The kit includes:
4 x Papers (2 embossed, 1 gessoed and a woograin fancy)
1 x Altered polaroid photo frame
2 x Stacked Buntings
1 x Paper doiley
1 x Pearl flourish
3 x Altered shipping tags
1 x Wordart
Forget-Me-Not flower
Dainty Bow
Autumn Leaf
Bowl of Cherries Sticker and more.
[All files are saved at 300dpi for optimum printing when creating your hybrid projects.
If your printer has a CMYK setting, use that for a true to colour result.]

All proceeds from the sale of 'Your So Purdy' goes back into TCR to help pay for the runnings of the ning site. So if it looks like something you could have a play with pop on over to the store and grab yourself the kit, there are a couple of other fabulous kits on offer too.

Here is a sample LO showcasing what you can do with the 'Your So Purdy' mini kit.
I also did a traditional page this week using the gorgeous paper range 'From my Heart 2' by the fabulous Swedish company Pion Design , they are such pretty, vintagy papers, but you know me I have to add some kind of contrast to off set that. So I used some cute miniture puzzle pieces from 'Stamp In Style' aren't they great.

They worked perfectly with the wordart I created as a freebie, just right click on it and you can grab it to use in your own projects :)
Okay so there you have it, the longest post in the world, sorry for that guys even I think I need to make myself a coffee now, tee hee...Have a great day and happy scrapping!

I AM...???

The new word reveal for BITW is 'TRUST'. This word prompt got me thinking about who I am and how I would describe myself, certainly a hard one to pinpoint for me, I guess 'I am...' so many things so how do you chose the perfect word to describe yourself or someone else for that matter?

Anyways, I was reading all about one of my all time fave artists Rosalie Gascoigne although kiwi born she resided in Canberra, Australia and was encompassed as one of Australia's very own. I had the wonderful opportunity to actually meet her many moons ago when I was an art student and she a resident artist with the Canberra School of Art. Not only was she an inspiring person but her work is spectacular I love it and have always found her work impacting and stimulating. Here's one of her pieces its so very urban and bold and so very me one day I'll have my very own Rosalie G tee hee...
and here is a link to one of her galleries just incase your interested in seeing more of her sculptures and mixed media.

Now because its not likely I'll ever have an original I thought I'd play around with the idea of collaging lots of adjectives that describe me drawing from Rosalie's idea of cutting up the common road sign. So I printed a tonne of adjectives in bold black text on yellow cardstock then inked the edges before gluing them together to form the base cardstock!

So Here is my LO for BITW using the word prompt 'trust' and trustful in my design. Hope you like both it and the digital version too :)
Thank you for stopping by my blog and I can't wait to see what you come up with using this word prompt. Mwah

SWEET SERENITY

Hi Everyone, just wanted to share with you that The Color Room is celebrating its 75th palette this week and we have a very special offer for you to mark the occasion. Recently Lydell Quin and I joined forces and collaborated on creating a digital kit called 'Sweet Serenity' for you to purchase. The DT at TCR were given the kit and all created incredibly beautiful hybrid and digital pages, so we thought why not make it available to all the TCR members

Here's a little preview of whats in the kit, not everything is displayed but its chocka block full of prettiness.
and here is Palette #75 that inspired the kit...
and here is my page created using the 'Sweet Serenity' Digi Kit.
and here is the traditional/hybrid page ;)

So if you are interested in purchasing the kit for a teeny tiny donation of $6 pop over here and click on the donate button located on the left side bar of the TCR home page, you may have to sign up first to be eligible!

Also if you are already a TCR member you can grab yourself a free .jpeg or .png printable sheet of selected embellishments all saved at 300dpi for premium printing quality so you can get started on those gorgeous hybrid pages straight away...tee hee

We really hope you enjoy 'Sweet Serenity' and if you do make a page or other project using the kit please let me know we would love to have a look at your creations :)

Hope you have a wonderful and creative weekend...mwah

ON THE MOVE!

I have been crazy busy packing up the house and cleaning it, but thought I'd quickly pop on here and add a little post before I go off line for a few days until we can be re-connected in the new abode. I have been wanting to get my digi kits up and running for weeks but with Tige and the house move everything has gone on the back burner. I have been crazily creating and learning new paths on PS and hopefully with in the month I can share some more kits with you.

Here is a digi I created of my friend Heather using some of the elements and papers I have designed for the 'On the Move' kit...I only wish I had some sneak peeks/Quick Grabs done for the other 4 kits I have created, big bummer but I promise I will get sorted soon!

Anyways here is the LO for you to get an idea...the kit includes a Polaroid Frame, Baroque Frame, Textured papers and a selection of elements most of which I haven't used in this page but you get the idea...
I haven't done much scrapping this week and am having withdrawals but here is another past Color Room palette knocked off the list #28 and both the traditional & digital versions to compare. I have also decided to include a sketch template for those of you needing a boost in the mojo department.
So tomorrow is the big day, the day we close the doors to our old life and begin a new one. Although I am all excited about this move I'm already feeling a sadness come over me...we have lived here for almost 6 years, its were we shared good times with our two gorgeous doggies Kales and Osky before they passed.
Its also where we have created some wonderful memories, but its time to move on, time for a bigger house and time to start afresh.

Well better get motivated and pack the scrap room up and start getting organised for tomorrows big move. Catch you all in a few days! xox

WRITERS BLOCK KIT CALL OUT

Hello Everyone!
I have some news to share with you all...I have been busily and excitedly designing some digtal scrapbooking kits which is a new venture for me one I am hoping will eventually lend itself to earning a little income from home especially now that bubba is soon to arrive I know I wont want to be heading back to a conventional job every day :)...
but because I am new to all this I have a favour to ask so if you could read below and perhaps forward this info to friends you know who are keen digital scrapbookers I would be so so grateful.

Before I go on with the big blurb here is a little tempter preview image of my very first digitally designed kit called...
'The Writers Block Kit'
which includes all high res .png files:
4X Papers
3X Word Art Phrases
3X Flair Buttons
1X Sheet of Embellishments
1X Alpha

and here's what I am looking for... 5 talented digital scrapbookers who would be willing to trial run this kit for me by creating your digi and/or hybrid Layout and then emailing me a pic with some feedback so I can iron out any problemos before I load them into free file share. I'll include just for you, some extra embellishments and a co-ordinating Numbers Alpha Pack which wouldn't ordinarily come in the kit.

If you like the look of the kit and are interested in helping me out can you email me at
the-emsta@hotmail.com and add as your subject heading Re: Writers Block Kit, so that I can quickly process and forward on the files to you for download (NB: they are all png's and saved at 300dpi)

also here's a sneaky peek at...
'The Take Flight Pack'
which will be available mid next week :)

In the following weeks I have 3 more kits in the pipe line that just need some tweaking before sharing with you so stay tuned!

My fingers are crossed that I get some interested nibbles and will be waiting anxiously to hear from all you digi scrapbookers out there!
mwah ;)
