CHRISTMAS JOY | BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

This month has been such a whirlwind. With MOC over at The Lilypad and my treatment for cancer its been so cray cray around here. Everything is tracking nicely though and I’ve finally caught up on commenting in my host challenge the White on White one and I am even making some of the MOC challenge sub pages! Jeepers this gal is on fire haha.

The one thing I have done is neglected to blog about some beautiful collections that Jennifer of SIMPLE PLEASURE DESIGNS has created over the past few weeks...argh face palm moment! So here I am finally sharing them with you and thankfully you will still find these collections on sale which is lucky for you and me both hehe.

Below are some Christmas inspired pages I created using these amazing products. Hope you’re not over the whole Christmas theme, but eek I just need to tout my lovely friend Jennifer and show off her gorgeous designs even if I'm a month late!

So lets have a look at some pages I created using the most current collection called PEACE, LOVE & JOY this one coordinates with SPD’s early collection release called THAT CHRISTMAS FEELING.  Peace, Love & Joy is not just perfect for those Christmas inspired pages but works equally as well for Art Journal pages & traditional themes. The collection includes some gorgeous handmade book elements so you can create some amazing flat lay style scrapbook/diary pages. Such an awesome collection I know I’ll be revisiting this one over and over again.

'PEACE & JOY'
'THE MISCHIEVOUS ELF'
'NO GREATER JOY'
'CHERISH EVERY MOMENT’

These next pages are using THAT CHRISTMAS FEELING COLLECTION. This one has so many beautifully traditional festive collection is bursting with so many packs including some word art, journal cards, stamps and a fun brighten bold alpha. You will be making so many gorgeous Christmas inspired pages with this traditional themed and coloured collection of joy.
‘CRAZY FAMIGLIA’
'MAKING SPIRITS BRIGHT’
‘GINGERBREAD MEN’

MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH A TOUCH OF MISTELTOE & HOLLY

Christmas has been and gone and we are already nearing the end of the first week of 2018! Ummm wahhhh I’m already behind in my blogging lol, but I’m not surprised! These last few weeks have been crazy busy and I've been taking it pretty slowly this past week, farewelling a great year and welcoming in an even better one by spending time with my boys and enjoying a tipple or two!

So I think I had better share some of my Christmas scrap pages with you guys. These are all created using the gorgeous Bundle by Simple Pleasure Designs called MISTLETOE & HOLLY + a couple of pages using the latest collection called MISTLETOE & HOLLY | RETRO CHRISTMAS RECORDS. SPREADING SOME CHRISTMAS CHEER!

It's me! Do you remember me? I know it seems like I have been neglecting my blog yet again, but you know how it is time slips by pretty quickly and before you know it the year is coming to an end. Jeepers I am completely in a spin, but I have managed to get all my Christmas shopping wrapped and packaged for the postie to deliver some Christmas cheer to family down south.

This year it's an orphan christmas for Tige and I, Dan is away at work and Mum is not coming up until mid January so she can be here for Tige's first day at Prep. I'm a little bummed about it just being Tige and I but atleast we can have some fun with the pressies he will be getting and prawns followed by summer berry trifle is on the menu, so I will be blissed out too hehe

I have been busy creating lots of Christmas kits and nifty packs which is partly why I have not been here sharing with you any of my pages so thought I'd better stop by and post a few and yep I have a few arghh. All these pages feature my BERRY & FAWN | COLLECTION  and some nifty packs I made called ALL PRIMED UP | PAPER PACK, GLITTER SPILLS | CHRISTMAS ACCENTS and lastly TAPE IT UP Vol.2 | CHRISTMAS WASHI TAPE.

Ooh and all the pages that feature photos of the lil' cuties Miss Morgan and Master Tristan playing in the snow are courtesy of one of my all time fave photographers and friends the fabulous Wendy Otterness.

So that's it for 2015 my last post for the year, I am looking forward to 2016...bring it on I say! Wishing you all an amazing Christmas spent with family and friends and of course don't forget to see 2016 in with a smile on your dial, laughing, snuggling or enjoying a midnight feast of left overs!

Lots of hugs Em xo

ITS NEARLY CHRISTMAS!

I absolutely love Christmas...the air this time of the year is filled with excitement and the anticipation of New Years celebrations I can't wait! Its also balmy here in Queensland. We have hot and humid days ahead so we will be spending many mornings and afternoons swimming, eating raspberry icy poles and juicy mangoes. I just love that Christmas is in the Summer time its the perfect way to celebrate the end of a busy year with family and friends!

but... secretly I dream of a White Christmas!
I would love just once to spend Christmas time, making snowmen and snow angels, sledging then warming up by a fire drinking eggnog. I know sounds amazing doesnt it? lol Dan and I decided that we just might do that when Tige is 10 years old, why not go to the U.S and spend Christmas there. So eight long years are ahead of us, but I will be saving my ginger bread men, banking on the white Christmas Dream to come true!

After all my daydreaming yesterday about a white christmas I realised I hadn't shared my latest Christmas projects using the Page Drafts Christmas Cheer Sketch TemplatesSo in the spirit of all things festive here are my pages using a couple. They were also created for Sissy Sparrows using the latest kit release

BABY ITS COLD OUTSIDE...

Yeah I know, rid-on-culous blog title given yesterday was the first official day of summer here in Australia and to make it stick even less were lucky here in Queensland because its summer all year round!

...but I just couldn't resist playing in the third special C.S.I Casefile which is a collaboration with Scrap365 Magazine.  Its now live and runs for the whole of December which gives you plenty of time to channel the inner girlie girl or to explore the soft pastel inspired palette.

I have never really played with a palette like this before so thought why not give it a go and when I started photographing my cutest little 1950's disney deer I had bought at my local op shop I knew I was up for the challenge and had the idea to do a snow laden page.

I dream of one day celebrating a white christmas and this page kinda made me want to wrap up in my winter woolies and well I also had a warm feeling hanging with the Scrap 365 girls again (my old DT stomping ground).

So here is my page...

I chose the topic {Winter} and journaled about the landscape
including the key words {sparkle, soft & handmade}

'Its cold outside. Winter trees stand bare. Looks for coats to wear. Hovers together seeking
a refuge from the icy winters air. The snow it sparkles as it blankets the ground. Snowflake it
falls & kisses my cheek. So softly it falls at my feet, natures handmade glistening veil.'

HO HO HO ITS CHRISTMAS TIME!

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share with you all the latest sketch reveal over at my other blog Page Drafts. For those of you who don't know I have another blog which is a sketch blog and this months release is full of fabulous christmas inspired sketches. Its an extra special one too...as some of my beautiful scrapbook friends have each created spectacular pages using the PD's as inspiration. So if your in need of a sketch to get you motivated head on over to the Page Drafts blog for a look!

Below are my 2012 Christmas pages, this post is the perfect op to share them don't you think tee hee...I know bit of an overload but this year I seem to be on a roll with creating Christmas themed pages normally I shy away from them {bah- humbug} so I am guessing I am making up for the last 8 years of missed Christmas scrapbook pages! he he

Anyways hope you like the PD reveal and these little festive morsels below.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and exciting New Year!
P.S-Have you been naughty or nice?

GOTTA LOVE TRIFLE!

I was talking recently with my girlfriend Kyla about Christmas lunch and all its trimmings. Trifle very quickly became the topic of intensive discussion...what do you put it yours, how many layers etc. So this year I have decided I am going to make one that is a little less on the calories if at all possible and found a great recipe for the Summer Berry Trifle. Sure its still got its layers of scrumptious custard and cream, with brandy soaked sponge but the fresh berries in colourful layers will be a substitute for my usual choice of marshmallow and jelly, sad I know but I am willing to give it a go.
Anyways whilst blog hopping the other day my lovely friend Karen had posted her fabulous digi she created for a challenge over at Digi Dares so naturally I had to scoot on over and see what this weeks challenge was all about. Its been yonks since I've played along in any challenge let alone a digi one and I had been lurking in the background for some time over there and figured given the current Digi Dare #298 was all about scrapping a sweet temptation it was perfect symmetry and time to play along.
Here is my little page dedicated to a truly fabulous Aussie tradition; tis the humble Christmas Trifle. The perfect splurge of decadence at Christmas befitting of any sweets connoisseur.

My Journaling is meshed into the word art and reads:
'I absolutely love the Christmas Trifle. Its a hard one to share.
I want to eat it all myself, but I could'nt NOT share it, that would be a sin!'
Thanks for stopping by :)

SOME MORE SAHLIN STUDIO GOODNESS!

Okay so here are some more digi pages using the fabulous kits from Sahlin Studio, gosh I am having heaps of fun playing with these colourful vintagy kits :)

This one was so nice to be able to create. Its been such a longtime since we have had a piccie taken of the 3 of us together that we finally managed to get a point and shoot yourself type of family portrait. Unfortunately Tige has a mouthful of dirt which we didnt realise until after the photo was taken, lol

BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS!

This weeks palette release at The Color Room is a fabulous combo of christmassy colours. Lydell also created a gorgeous sketch with lots of trees for inspiration.  I loved that idea so instead of using the obvious I popped a bit of foliage into my design. Here it is featuring none other than the spectacular Master Tige in his Santa's little Helper costume, doesn't he look so cute and still so happy after all that toy making...
and palette #88 with lots of Shimmerz, vibez and blingz to play with.
I also completely forgot about sharing last weeks palette and DT LO here they are and yep another Christmas theme this time but using non-traditional colours. Hope you like them both :)
I dont normally do Christmas layouts but with such an awesome little model I couldn't resist this year! I think I'm hooked tee hee.

Have a great week everyone,
See ya soon xox
