BYOC | MARCH GOODIES OVER AT THE LILYPAD

This months BYOC over at The Lilypad is so pretty. Inspired by spring, new beginnings and a change of weather you will have fun with this one for sure. I really love this palette with the risotto reds and oranges contrasted with gold, jade and aquamarine, is just so striking and fresh. I had a tonne of fun using some of the awesome packs available. They are filled with pretty flowers, artsy papers and lots of great elements perfect for creating a real mix of scrapbook page themes.

A BLAST INTO THE PAST

Don’t you just love how scrapbook challenges get you thinking, not just outside the box in regards to design but in reeling those memories in no matter how vague at first they may seem. I've noticed this month how I have visited old photos and recalled long ago memories. Like the one below called Dancing Queen. This page was so much fun to create. Whilst making it I found myself transported back to my grandparents lounge room and dancing on Grandpa’s feet. Such a wonderful memory to revisit and because of it I’ve felt him close this week. Miss him.

Do you ever find yourself transported into another moment of time gone by when you scrap?

It’s part and parcel isn’t it really of our memory keeping and to emerge ourselves into wonderful memories. I’m so grateful to get my scrappy on and to be able to capture those truly special moments.

PLUNGE INTO GRUNGE | STYLE CHALLENGE

This month I’m excited to be hosting the Style challenge over at The Lilypad and I thought it would be cool to scrap a style that I just can’t get enough of and thats...GRUNGE! Yep this month lets get messy and take the plunge into grunge!

When I paper scrap I can’t help but reach for my gesso, inks and mists. These are some of my favourite go to wet mediums and I am always spritzing, scrapping, or brushing them onto my pages. So I thought this month it would be fun to get all icky with a mix of digital wet mediums and create a painterly, grungy, messed up background as a base to build our design on.

When creating a grunge background you have to think lots and lots of layers. So get layering and stash grab your digital brush tools, clipping masks and painted overlays to help create all that grungy goodness. Anything goes here, there are no rules just visualise getting inky fingers whilst making a hot pretty mess!

For the specific challenge criteria head on over to The Lilypad forum and check out the April challenges, but for visual inspiration I have put together a PINTEREST BOARD CALLED INKY FINGERS. In there you will find lots of great pages (serious eye candy) and products that might help you on your grungy painterly exploration. Below is a page I created of my lil’ mister showing off his haul of Easter eggs and I’ve included tonnes of painterly brushes and stamps.

BYOC | BUILD YOUR OWN COLLAB APRIL 2018

It’s BYOC time over at The Lilypad and this months palette is gorgeous. Lots of soft spring tonee for those of you heading out of Winter and for those of us heading into Winter here is a gentle nudge.

I love teh BYOC products there are so many to mix and match which makes for a solid scrap session in anyones book. Here are just a few pages I have created using the April 2018 collections.

OOPS...CATCH UP TIME!

Wow...what a full on few weeks its been! Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas break and were spoiled with pressies, food and most importantly, the company of loved ones. This year was a very quiet one for us. Dan was away with work so Tige and I were adopted Christmas Day... yet again...with some friends thank goodness for friends hey!

Its also been all systems go with Tige starting Prep this year. He has transitioned really well into big school, mummy not so much! It was mixed emotions for me, sure exciting times and seeing Tige so happy that he has started school was the pay off but jeepers, I am not liking how time is flying by, this quickening of time seriously knocks me off my feet and is not what I signed up for! lol

Anyways thought I had better stop by, share some of my latest pages which there are plenty of, so please bear with me. I just seem to not have enough time up my sleeve these days to post here regularly but will try to stop by atleast every month and overwhelm you with tonnes of pages then hehe, hope thats coolio with you guys!
