SCRAPPING SOME CHALLENGES

Happy New Year everyone hope you had a magical Christmas and new year celebrations. For us it was a quiet one and now we have some family visiting from down south so lots of lazy days at the beach and by the pool ahead of us...my favourite time of the year! 

I've also been hauled up inside gravitating towards the aircon its been just a touch hot the last few days so its been the perfect time to have a play with my two favourite challenges, CSI: Color Stories and Inspiration January casefile and the Kraft Plus January Moodboard.

Here is what I made lazying in front of the PC lapping up the coolness of our trusty aircon...

I'VE BEEN PLAYING AGAIN!

Gawwwww-sh, its been weeks yet again since my last post so am well over due to share some pages. Thought I'd start with my latest digital collection release 'ADRIFT'. This whimsical nautical inspired collection is full of moody colour and over spiling with flotsam and jetsam. FRESH START

Trying to find a new schedule with Tige's schooling and design time has been a little tricky. Trickier than I thought. I seriously think I was delusional when I thought I'd have more time up my sleeve with Tige attending school 5 days a week, but jeepers nope thats furtherest from the truth...what's with that?!

School pick up and drop off is what nightmares are made of, hassling for a parking spot even a block away can at times be difficult let alone negotiating the bloody morning peak hour. Arriving at school and watching Tige with his new school buddies before the bell rings is the ultimate reward....Oh wow what a fun time we've been having.I am slowly meeting other mum's (some my age group yay!) and I'm now on the P&C as a volunteer plus I put my hand up for the Risk Management Stategy Committee which I am sure will be really interesting. So begins school life!

After the morning rush I hit the computer and well its been all systems go designing lots of new digital collections and nifty packs. March is a big month so I thought I'd share some of my current pages using all my latest products. Hope you like them :)

HAVE FAITH & JUST BE YOU!

Gosh its been a busy few weeks, with The Nifty Pixels new store opening at The Digichick I have been snowed under with scheduling posts and Newsletters and of course designing that I seem to be neglecting my lil patch of the bloggersphere! So here I am sharing just a few of the many pages I have made this past month!

This one is all about living with and finding ways to deal with depression and anxiety which has been a bit of a struggle for much of my life, but I had managed to keep a lid on it for the most part until I experienced another major lose and then everything turned to poop. But hey I am getting there and feel that I should just share my struggles then that way they don't become an inner war but instead exposing them will surely bring them to light enabling me to move forward.

I thought I'd share some of my recent pages, it's been slow on the scrapping front but busy behind the scenes, so I gave myself a day off just to get some scrapping done and well these are what I came up with all using my product...it's still weird to say that hehe.

I decided I'd play in the K+ Challenge again this month, the palette and recipe got me all gee'd up for a fun challenge and well this one fit the bill perfectly as some of the criteria also fitted in with what I just released yesterday in my store gotta be some symmetry there hehe!

Here is the challenge recipe and swatch.

I have added in some yellow {COTTON} some {WASHI TAPE}, a {SPRINKLING OF SILVER} using silver glitter and a silver foil leaf. The Title is a {STAMPED} alpha. {3X TAGS} are included two of which are stacked under the photo the 3rd being a small date tag on the right. The only new thing I created for this page was the {POLKA DOT} + {KRAFT PAPER} which is the main challenge criteria.

A WHOLE LOT OF PRIMARY AND ALL THAT GLITTERS!

You may have noticed that although I love scrapping using colourful palettes, they tend to be slightly subdued and not really bold, well lets just say I think my fear of Primary colours has slightly dissipated after creating my latest kit 'Paddy's Luck'. Its a little kit dedicated to St Patrick but really its all about having fun chasing rainbows, letting in some love and feeling incredibly lucky! Here's what I created ;)

 I also played along with the Kraft+ March Sketch Challenge. Which was a bit different for me because I never use other peoples sketches but the 'All that Glitters' prompt sold me so I thought why not give it a go. I did change the sketch slightly to suit my needs but think I have stayed pretty true to the original sketch design ;)

WORKING THE CAMERA!

After the past few weeks with my head down bottom up learning the ropes as a digital designer I have'nt had a chance to really play and scrapbook....but there must be some lil angels of fun lurking about because I have managed to get my scrappin' on the past couple of days!

Here is my page for the Kraft Plus Challenge Site which is open to digi scrappers too....YAY... I am so happy that it is because I love the palette & image swatch and really wanted to play along with this one. 

So here is my sub and yep it features the lil mister again! hehe. I decided to reference the photo prompt by emulating the 3 layers of colour and then layered my sequence of photos on top of some stacked textured and pattern paper pieces. You can see I have used the Kraft paper as a base which is part of the criteria and then I also added some more Kraft into the page with the addition of a row of pennants. I really had fun with this challenge and think I might continue playing along ;)

EVIDENCE: I included a photo of Tige learning to ride his {Bicycle}. Some scribbles for the{Pen Work} a {Stamped} chevron accent and a {Metal} fastener on the letter 'B'. 

TESTIMONY: I used the prompt {Write about a stage of life}. I journaled about learning new things and how exciting that is but also to find balance early on in life so it puts him in good stead for the rest of it!

Lastly this was a page I created for a challenge I had over at my other blog the one I mentioned before ;) I offered a free download of JC's and other elements called the 'Plus Side' and invited people to create a digital or Hybrid project using them. I am lovin' Pocket pages they are tonnes of fun and so easy to do. I am also swooning over graphic modern patterns, gotta lurve a big PLUS SIGN! hehe
