GO GREEN FOR MOTHER’S DAY | MAY INSPIRATION CHALLENGE AT THE LILYPAD

Hi everyone, welcome to the month of May! The May 2019 Inspiration challenge is inspired by this months birthstone the EMERALD.

The lushness of the colour green is so refreshing and symbolises so many things including the colour of life, renewal, nature and energy. It is also associated with meanings of growth, harmony and safety.

I just love this colour and thought why not make it this months inspirational hue and then I had a brain wave moment, what do all these symbolic meanings of the colour green remind me of? Yep you got it, my mum and being a mum! So lets step this challenge up and create a page dedicated to the theme of Mothers Day and make green the main colour palette of your design.

CHALLENGE CRITERIA:

• Create a project that focuses on the theme Mothers Day and what that represents for you. You could scrap about your own mum or someone who has been like a mum for you. You could scrap about the highs and lows of being a mum or if you’re a mum to fur babies thats totally being a mum too! The skies the limit on this one.
• You must use the colour Green as you primary colour palette. This can include as many shades, hues and tones of green that you like. So have fun with green!
• Other colours can absolutely be included. However please make sure green remains the predominate colour.

Here is my page dedicated to my wonderful mum. My mum has been an amazing support for me all my life but more so these past few months since my diagnosis. She has totally stepped up and helped with running the house and looking after Tige when Dan has worked away from home and when I’ve been too unwell to do it myself. I can’t imagine how our little family would of coped without her tremendous love and support. Love my mum! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

I used various shades of green and teal in my page with a touch of red and black as accents.

For extra inspiration I have put together a PINTEREST BOARD called GO GREEN this has tonnes of great ideas to inspire your pages.

Remember our monthly challenge rules:

Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the MAY Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread.

The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month:

2 challenges = 10% off
4 challenges = 20% off
6 challenges = 30% off

If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).

BYOC | BUILD YOUR OWN COLLAB APRIL 2018

It’s BYOC time over at The Lilypad and this months palette is gorgeous. Lots of soft spring tonee for those of you heading out of Winter and for those of us heading into Winter here is a gentle nudge.

This weeks new releases over at The Lilypad are amazing especially the new APRIL STORYTELLER 2018 COLLECTION by Just Jaimee it's a beauty! Such a vibrant palette and lots of cute elements you’ll be scrapping all those spring inspired memories in no time. Also check out Dawn Inskip's gorgeous grungy LIVE FOR TODAY BUNDLE. Its so pretty filled and with ephemera and some gorgeous painterly masks and overlays perfect for some artsy style pages. I can see this one being used many more times for sure, I just love it!

GUEST POLLY AT THE LILYPAD!

Its been a hectic month but tonnes of fun so far. I am very excited to have got an invite to be a guest Polly over at the Lilypad this month, perfect timing given it was my birthday on the 5th so it was like being given a 'Key to the City' having access to so much inspiration at the pad.

The pad boasts some of the best designers out there and their kits are incredible I have to pinch myself and show some serious restraint from filling my cart lol, but I have played with a few awesome kits so far and I still have 2 more weeks to go so thought I better share some of these pages with you all other wise it would be an epic post and take hours to load ;).

Many of you may recognise these photo's of my godson. I use them every now and then because I think they are so cute and when I started playing with Jaimee's kits I knew the May collection would be a perfect fit. This page amazingly got two GSO's. A Froggy Favourite and a Gallery Standout HERE. So I am a happy camper thats for sure lol! I created it for the TLP August Scraplift Challenge and used this page which you can see HERE, as my inspiration.

HANGING AT THE LILYPAD!

Warning long post, lots of pages to share ;)

Most months I try to play along with the challenges over at The Lilypad. This month I managed to complete them all which was a tonne of fun! These first two are the digital and hybrid versions of the same page. The Hybrid is slightly different because I combined that page with another challenge set by a new facebook group called 'Can I do that?'

Catie Kennedy the founder decided that we should try creating a page using a clean white cardstock as the base. The catch....no embellishing of the cardstock at all! So this proved to be a challenge for many of us he he. Its way too hard not to add something. Anyways I had a brain storm and figured that using Grafix rub-Onz wouldnt constitute embellishing the cardstock instead simply adding a 4th photo to my project! Brilliant? hmmmm I don't know 'bout that but hey love how it turned out.
