{NOTE TO SELF}

Here's another digi I've created for Sahlin Studio. I have a few more to share but thought I'd show you this one first as the others have a similar theme so figured they'd go better in their own post tee hee. I honestly don't know where all this creative energy is coming from, but right now while its happening I am going to strike while the iron is hot! But I do think its these fabulous kits that Sahlin Studio offer over at The Lilypad.

All the kits stand beautifully alone but work perfectly when mixed together... thats half the fun I reckon... trawling through all the fabulous paper packs and embellishments and pulling key elements out from each to make a design work.

Anyways I decided to create a page of moi using a photo I took the other day and figured I'd share a little bit of my anxiety surrounding this whole getting older business. Look I know being 40'ish isn't old if your a tree, but now that I have Tige I am somewhat reluctant about it all. I am sure this is just a phase and after doing this page even though its a simple message the process was cathartic. I kinda feel like I have unburdened myself by making a bright & bold page. Anyways here it is 'Note to Self'... (with a little slap to the face and a wake up to yourself thrown into the mix ;)

SOUL SCRAPPERS QUEST...

I decided since its such a lovely community over at Soul Scrappers that I might do some of the challenges set for the month of July. I saw a fabulous sketch template created by Joy Anderson which appealed to me so created this page below for the NSC12 challenge.

oh and

which I used in the page ;)

Okay so then I started trawling through the other challenge threads and realised I had actually without knowing it completed PART 1 of this awesome quest set out below. I am cheering. Here's the quest outline which sounds like a tonne of fun, I'll be giving it a go...

▼▼▼▼▼
Do you like a little vintage?  Enjoy playing with ribbon and lace and pieces of old paper?  Well this Soul Scrappers quest is for you.
Participants will be sent a package of FREE vintage embellishments to use on your layout or off the page creation. Everyone will receive the same items (or very similar) and you will be required to use all (or as much as you possibly can) of these items.  The addition of background cardstock or paper is allowed.
For this challenge I am also setting the following criteria …
You MUST use a vintage black and white photograph (you can include more than one)   Note - vintage loosely indicates anything older than 40 years
And your layout or off the page item MUST be in a vintage style.
This challenge is open to 15 member participants only.  There will be a separate challenge running for members of the design team.
In order to be included in this quest you MUST also have entered two other challenges from those available for July.  That gives you the choice of some nine (9) Soul Team challenges in which to participate plus one from our lovely July Guest Soul Team member, Emma Stafrace.
GDT2, NSC12, WC12, THC51, CC5, SC54, SLC11, QC13, CUCC6, NSC13
The list will open for registration on July 21st and I will take names until July 31st unless numbers are filled before that so first in best dressed.

I will mail out the packages at this time so once you have signed up you will need to message me your postal details.
Three prizes will be awarded for this quest (plus a separate prize for the design team).  Pictures of these prizes will be put up once the registration opens.
The deadline for submitting your creations into the gallery, tagged SSQ13 will be August 31st.
REMEMBER - You have until registration opens on July 21st to complete two (2) of the July challenges - you must have completed these two challenges to be eligible for SSQ13 registration.

Are you up for a quest?

COVER YOU IN KISSES

Its Friday so we have a new palette at The Color Room. #117 is a vibrant mix of rich warm hues of pink and magenta with a twist of orange thrown into the mix, its a beautiful bright and happy palette to play with. Here is my DT page.

I used the Blazonry and Mini Gears TCW Templates on this page. I am loving mixing the templates up it adds a little different point of interest & seeing how the various designs play off each other is quite cool too. I also finally got my hands on some Ezy Carve (which I bought from Eckersleys) to create my own handcarved stamps. So started off doing a basic Chevron to stamp another bold contrasting pattern into the design like I didn't already need more pattern tee hee.

I also used some plumbers tape, hand coloured some yucky green foam thickers (which is always a buzz knowing I've managed to save a few buckaroo's not buying new Thickers) and used the fabulous Kaisercraft Texture Numbers stamp which is presently my fave stamp (from Mad About Scrappin), if you havent got it yet add it to your list you wont be disappointed ;)). Oh and lastly this little beauty of a font took pride of place.

which you can download here.

and here is #117 palette which was created for Inzpira Magazine.

So hope you'll give this fabbo palette a go and if you get a chance pop over to The Color Room and see what some of the new DT have created, their designs are sure to inspire.

Have awonderful weekend,
Em xo
