HANGING OUT AT THE PAD!

This past week I decided to have a play in the April challenges over at The Lilypad.  I am not sure what has come over me but I have been on a massive scrappy adventure and have finished all of this months challenges already! Its been fun to actually use some of those yummy digi kits I have in my stash but have not had the chance to play with yet, so thats gotta be a good thing!

This first page is actually my CT page for Sahlin Studio and the new kit 'Worth a Thousand Words'. I absolutely love the soft palette its gorgeous, so had to make a lovey dovey page with it!

I then came across this fabulous tutorial called 'Watercolour Look' by Farrah on creating artistic effects like pencil and water colour effects with your photo's. Unfortunately because the tutorial was for Photoshop (I use PSE) I soon realised to do this particular technique I needed to find a way to create a Layer Mask.

You'd think it would be easy but alas it wasn't. PSE 8 which I run doesnt have that command built in unlike PSE 9 and up, but lady luck was on my side I found that elusive pot of gold and downloaded a free Layer Mask Action yeeeooow cheering... after that it was plain sailing!

So I created this page for the Word Challenge at The Lilypad.

Lastly here is the final challenge submission for the Journaling section. I decided to make a double page just to see how I go I have only ever made one double layout in all my years of scrapping and well to put it plainly is sucked! lol But I have to say I am a bit pleased about how this one turned out! I am well chuffed that each page can stand on its own.

  1. Em, these layouts are truly awesome! I love the endless possibilities digital seems to give. I guess I'll have to try sometime. Meanwhile I'm always trying to figure out how to change digital "things" into just normal paper and glue scrapbooking!! I'mparticularly in love with three of your layouts here: Wonder, About U and the last one: This tells the story. What I so like about this last one is that though it is full of so many fascinating details, the photos and the story still stand out and are predominant. Just loved your journalling! Thanks for sharing. We had a hard time at the beginning too but not nearly as long as it was for you. So happy for both of you!!! Beautiful work!

  4. Inspirational Art Em...it's amazing what you can do with pixels. I would not be able to choose a favourite, although I'm drawn always to the cheeky boy images of your son. It's great to hear you want to journal about your thoughts and feelings. I used to badger my Mother for her thoughts about current issues, but that generation never really wanted to disclose anything much about their inner world. Thanks for the inspiration :D
