THE LOVE OF A GRAND AUNTIE!

Its Friday which means another palette release at The Color Room. This weeks stunner is a beautiful array of pastels which works perfectly with our sponsor for this month Manor House Creations Flowers. Given I am liking the pink tones of late I jumped right into this weeks so here is my reveal for palette #106. The layout is of my darling Aunty who Tige absolutely fell inlove with, there's nothing like the cuddles of a Great Aunty.
The base paper is from the 'Dreamer' range of PP's from 7 Dots Studio and I overlayed a fabulously cute 'Bird and cherry blossom' serviette for the background, which I bought from my lovely friend Kyla at her Etsy shop Left of Centre, you can get a fabulous array of serviettes to play with there.

I also used a Darkroom Door chicken wire chippie and some of Louise Nelson's butterfly design chippies from Imaginarium Designs. I have definitely climbed the bandwagon of Washi Tape aficionado's and used some cute measuring tape washi from the gorgeous Amanda Lawrence of D-lish Scraps fame who has some ripper new designs to chose from.

Lastly I created a cloud mask and softly inked the background using Versa Cube #56 'Cinnamon' teamed up with a touch of gesso. Hope you like the page and are all inspired by the sketch and palette to come and play this week at TCR.

Oh and I made it on the Most wanted list this week at C.S.I for my lo titled 'Would it be a surprise?' woot woot, doin' a happy dance and smiling widely, thanks so much everyone for all your lovely comments you put me in a happy place :))

Thanks for stopping by, and have yourselves a fabulous weekend! xox

MAD ABOUT SCRAPPIN 7 DOTS STUDIO

You may have heard whispers around the traps about my new design team possie, but I haven't shared it officially here in Blogland so today seemed like the perfect moment to do the big reveal! I am now working for the lovely Leanne Lovett at 'Mad About Scrappin' yippee! I love Leanne's fun and vibrant personality she is always a barrel of laughs crazy lady that she is tee hee! And when she advertised her search for a new DT I didn't hesitate. Now I know some of you know that she and I are good buddies, but that didn't mean I got a free walk in, I still had to apply, share a bit about what I hoped to achieve and bring to MAS and what my personal endeavours are in the world of scrapping.

I was right chuffed to get the acceptance email and almost straight away a parcel of goodies was presented to me to get cracking on. So here a few layouts I created using the 'Elsie Rebel' patterned papers by 7 Dots Studio and an Inspiration pack full of different textured materials that Leanne gave to me and Melanie McKenzie to play with.

This page called 'Meow' showcases the 'Extraordinary' pp. I used some gesso, and then with the Spiced Marmalade distress ink by Tim Holtz inked over the top of a paper doiley which I used as a mask.
Because circles feature strongly in this page I decided to balance that out by adding strips of paper, transparency and washi tape vertically behind the photo's which really helps break up the circular repetition and define the photo's. Then I covered a chipboard arrow in washi tape to help connect the title to the photo cluster. Finally from the inspiration pack I used the bottle cap as a stamp to add some more circles (like it needed more of those lol)

In 'Let Sleeping Babies Lie' I used most of the papers from the Elsie Rebel range but featured the 'Sensitive' pp as the base. I clustered 3 photo's of Tige sleeping and layered them with torn pieces from the other papers. I used some aqua tuile and some more of the gutter guard for extra texture from the inspiration pack. I designed a word-art for the title and printed that off along with some cloud shapes and half tone paint splatters on Grafix Rub-onz which just adds a little extra something to the overall page.
Lastly I customised some glass cabachons by gluing them to some paper off cuts waste not want not!

Oh and I used the new Words or Whatever Circle AltaMATZ that Leanne sells, they are fantastic.

This page 'Don't be afraid to fall' is using the 'Delightful' PP from the Elsie Rebel range. I incorporated some stickers from this set and used a Heidi Swapp 'Damask' mask by inking it to create more depth in the background.

From the inspiration pack that Lea gave us I cut a strip from the rubber mat, painted it and adhered it to the page and finally, mounted the photo on a piece of the gutter guard for added  texture.

For the final page 'Funny Faces' I used the 'Over Emotional' and 'Imperfect' papers. You can just make out the misted area using the Gutter guard as a mask in the top left corner I think I used the Chalkboard 'Monolith' misting spray, hence why it is subtle but it has a gorgeous shimmer. The handcut chipboard sun has an imprinted texture from the non slip matting over the surface. Both very subtle but I think the added texture creates a softness to the page.
So there you have my exciting news. If you are interested and learning more check out the Mad About scrappin Facebook page here.
Thanks for stopping by  xox

LETS CELEBRATE!

Can you believe palette 100 is up! Wow congratulations 'The Color Room', massive round of applause. Also to the team along with all you wonderful forum members you guys rock for supporting such a great place and sharing all your inspiring creations, every week I am stunned by the talent out there and am excited to be continuing on the journey with TCR DT. Anyways there is lots to share in this post so I best get on with it.

To celebrate this amazingly auspicious moment I have created a mini digital kit called 'Your So Purdy' and donated it to TCR for you to purchase.
The kit includes:
4 x Papers (2 embossed, 1 gessoed and a woograin fancy)
1 x Altered polaroid photo frame
2 x Stacked Buntings
1 x Paper doiley
1 x Pearl flourish
3 x Altered shipping tags
1 x Wordart
Forget-Me-Not flower
Dainty Bow
Autumn Leaf
Bowl of Cherries Sticker and more.
[All files are saved at 300dpi for optimum printing when creating your hybrid projects.
If your printer has a CMYK setting, use that for a true to colour result.]

All proceeds from the sale of 'Your So Purdy' goes back into TCR to help pay for the runnings of the ning site. So if it looks like something you could have a play with pop on over to the store and grab yourself the kit, there are a couple of other fabulous kits on offer too.

Here is a sample LO showcasing what you can do with the 'Your So Purdy' mini kit.
I also did a traditional page this week using the gorgeous paper range 'From my Heart 2' by the fabulous Swedish company Pion Design , they are such pretty, vintagy papers, but you know me I have to add some kind of contrast to off set that. So I used some cute miniture puzzle pieces from 'Stamp In Style' aren't they great.

They worked perfectly with the wordart I created as a freebie, just right click on it and you can grab it to use in your own projects :)
Okay so there you have it, the longest post in the world, sorry for that guys even I think I need to make myself a coffee now, tee hee...Have a great day and happy scrapping!

HAPPINESS IS...

Everyday I pinch myself just to make sure I'm not dreaming, is this truely my life...am I really a mother? OMG what an amazing thing it is to be so so happy.

I love motherhood, all the quizzillion mummy's out there would say they love the awesomeness of those little cuddles and kisses, and for some of us we will even go as far as saying we love being puked on, because every little up chuck is a reminder that I have a gorgeous little boy, a little fella who is my forever expanding universe!

This was something my mum said to me a few years ago about what I meant to her and now I completely understand the sentiment and meaning behind those 4 words 'my forever expanding universe' Tige is everything I hope to be, if that at all makes sense.

So in light of my little blurb above my hybrid and digi DT pages  for this weeks palette #76 reveal from The Color Room are yep you guessed it..all about 'my forever expanding universe' Master Tige. I also thought I'd mention the fantastic Tim Holtz Make your own masks that I used to create the 'Chevron' pattern on the hybrid page, you can grab some of this awesomeness at Scraptherapy. The misted circles are created using the customised misting screen I made using my Cricut machine.
Okay better finish off the hybrid LO from last weeks palette eeek, always doing a catch up! Have a fabulous weekend everyone, waving at you excitedly!xox

A NEW MONTH WITH NEW CHALLENGES

Its that time again, Monthly challenges are all on the go again, and hopefully this month does not disappoint!
Over at Scrapboutique I'm hosting this months Monthly Themed challenge
 'CELEBRATING THE LITTLE PEOPLE'
May is the Month of Mothers Day, so lets scrap a page dedicated to the little people in our lives, be it our children, nieces, nephews or God Children. Lets capture those not so desirable moments like looking messy, those spaghetti or chocolate ice-cream grins, the glares, the poking out of tongues, that sort of thing.
 Criteria:
1- Use a photo that captures the mood of that moment. ie: Grumpy, naughty, being cheeky or pulling a funny face!

2- Create your own Grungy Background PP, by using paint and misting spray.

Here's my example LO of my Godson Master Kellan. Now I know this piccie has been done before but I absolutely love it, and will probs use it over and over again, so please humour me!Tee hee
I've also set my second challenge as DT over at Uproar 2 Scrapmore. I thought it would be fun to do a Sketch & Colour Palette Challenge, dedicated to us as bubba's.Here's the May Sketch Challenge Template and Colour Palette.

 Criteria:
1- Use a photograph of you as a bubba or toddler.
2- Use machine or Hand stitching somewhere on the page.
3- Follow the sketch template, you are welcome to flip it any which way so long as you stick to the basic design.
4- Use the attached colour palette.

If your interested in some fun challenges then pop on over to Scrapboutique and Uproar2Scrapmore sites and join in!
