CHRISTMAS JOY | BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

This month has been such a whirlwind. With MOC over at The Lilypad and my treatment for cancer its been so cray cray around here. Everything is tracking nicely though and I’ve finally caught up on commenting in my host challenge the White on White one and I am even making some of the MOC challenge sub pages! Jeepers this gal is on fire haha.

The one thing I have done is neglected to blog about some beautiful collections that Jennifer of SIMPLE PLEASURE DESIGNS has created over the past few weeks...argh face palm moment! So here I am finally sharing them with you and thankfully you will still find these collections on sale which is lucky for you and me both hehe.

Below are some Christmas inspired pages I created using these amazing products. Hope you’re not over the whole Christmas theme, but eek I just need to tout my lovely friend Jennifer and show off her gorgeous designs even if I'm a month late!

So lets have a look at some pages I created using the most current collection called PEACE, LOVE & JOY this one coordinates with SPD’s early collection release called THAT CHRISTMAS FEELING.  Peace, Love & Joy is not just perfect for those Christmas inspired pages but works equally as well for Art Journal pages & traditional themes. The collection includes some gorgeous handmade book elements so you can create some amazing flat lay style scrapbook/diary pages. Such an awesome collection I know I’ll be revisiting this one over and over again.

JUST MY TYPE

The newest and most amazing-est collection has just been released by SIMPLE PLEASURE DESIGNS called JUST MY TYPE BUNDLE. This one is a fun office/school inspired collection filled with stationary, labels, tabs and folder files to help you document the office memo’s, department goings on and just maybe the secret office crush :) I totally have to say I just love how Jennifers collections are so incredibly versatile allowing you to cross over into many themes not just the originally intended as you’ll see below in some of my pages.

TIME TRAVELLER & MORE

This month has been a great month so far for scrapping. I have found my groove again especially off the back of MOC 6 over at The Lilypad. The monthly challenges are always great for pushing yourself and  the February list is no different. It’s also been great hanging at the pad again. After being absent for sometime what with designing and other commitments but I feel great to be back there.

I’ve caught up with some scrappy buddies, made some new amazing digi friends and its an added bonus that everyone is so generous in commenting in the gallery & friendly in the forum. I have to say its also be awesome to revisit some of my Lilypad digi stash including snafflin' up a few choice kits from some great designers has completely topped my return back in the hub nicely.

WONDERFUL WORLD!

 For the digital scrappers you'll know what I mean when I say we have sooooo many kits in our stash! So many that its almost like you create one or two pages and then you rarely visit them again. Well that was doing my head in especially when I know there are so many fabulous kits in my stash that havent seen the light of day in months. Sooooo.... I have decided to embark on a personal challenge and work my way through some starting with the Room 19 Collections created by Sissy Sparrows. 

These collections are amazing! They are filled with so many individual packs, of elements, papers, overlays, brush sets and lots of other fantastic goodies that they are some of the greatest bundles the girls have put together. The first three pages are created using those kits and I have to say its been fun playing with them again, its a bit like catching up with an old friend, you wonder when you see them why its been so long since you've caught up lol!

Sissy Sparrows has also launched their very own forum. This little hub of activity and inspiration is called 'Hey Soul Sisters!' and is well worth a look! There will be tonnes of great tutorials both digitally inspired and many for the hybrid scrappers out there that love playing with digital kits.

Two of the newest adventures over there are the Monthly ATC swap and the fun 'Cock & Bull' challenge. This months ATC swap 'Hearts a Mess' is all about the matters of the heart. 

All you have to do is create a digital ATC using atleast 75% SS products whilst sticking to theme and in return you get pockets full of amazing ATC's. Last months was a huge success with over 15 designs submitted, I bet this months will be just as awesome!

The next challenge is the new 'Cock & Bull' Challenge. This is a fun one because it uses a photograph as the prompt to creating a trumped up and completely fabricated story. Gotta love spinning a yarn, hey!

WE ARE SILLY!

I am feeling very much loved at the mo in digiland, I just finished a big month guesting at The Lilypad and now Mirjam of Pink Reptile Designs fame, has invited me to join her team as a guest   'The Pink Lady' for the month of September...and I am loving hanging with this group of ladies. They are all so lovely and creative, I am sure I will learn lots of scrappy tricks from them!

GUEST POLLY AT THE LILYPAD!

Its been a hectic month but tonnes of fun so far. I am very excited to have got an invite to be a guest Polly over at the Lilypad this month, perfect timing given it was my birthday on the 5th so it was like being given a 'Key to the City' having access to so much inspiration at the pad.

The pad boasts some of the best designers out there and their kits are incredible I have to pinch myself and show some serious restraint from filling my cart lol, but I have played with a few awesome kits so far and I still have 2 more weeks to go so thought I better share some of these pages with you all other wise it would be an epic post and take hours to load ;).

HANGING AT THE LILYPAD!

Warning long post, lots of pages to share ;)

Most months I try to play along with the challenges over at The Lilypad. This month I managed to complete them all which was a tonne of fun! These first two are the digital and hybrid versions of the same page. The Hybrid is slightly different because I combined that page with another challenge set by a new facebook group called 'Can I do that?'

Catie Kennedy the founder decided that we should try creating a page using a clean white cardstock as the base. The catch....no embellishing of the cardstock at all! So this proved to be a challenge for many of us he he. Its way too hard not to add something. Anyways I had a brain storm and figured that using Grafix rub-Onz wouldnt constitute embellishing the cardstock instead simply adding a 4th photo to my project! Brilliant? hmmmm I don't know 'bout that but hey love how it turned out.
